They Don’t Make Them Like This Anymore….

Part 1 - Frankenstein (1931) - This is the first part of hopefully many many more, ‘They Don’t Make Them Like This Anymore’ is a look back at some groundbreaking and truly amazing films, made before 2000. Last night i was lucky enough to watch an uncut version of James Whale’s 1931 horror masterpiece; Frankenstein. This was a centrepiece in the infamous Universal ‘Monsters’ series of films which ran from the early 1910’s to the late 1950’s. 40 years of creating some of the most scary and recognizable characters of cinema history. Frankenstein shows whats good about early films; Huge sets (Frankenstein’s castle has a staircase that is jawdropping), brilliant Lighting, and an original scrpit showing where all the later films blossomed from. The Monster is very scary, even now, yet we still have time to interact and sympathise with him. If you do manage to get hold of this cinematic wonder, try and make sure its uncut original, due to the film being controversal at the time bits were cut out, but added in later editions. At only one hour 7 minutes this is short enough to have time for whatever your doing, i assure you, you wont be disappointed. So i urge you to buy/watch online/download just to see cinematic history, because after nearly 80 years, ‘Frankenstien’ is as amazing as ever, proving that ‘IT’S ALIVVVVEEEEEEEEEEE!’
